Communities in the Amazon...
Many years ago, Indians and indigenous people lived in the Amazon. Death rates increased when during the time of European Settlement in the area. The Europeans carried deceases with them that the Indians unfortunately weren't immune to. This was the cause of death for many Indians and indigenous people. Another cause was en-slavery. When the Europeans came, they forced the indigenous people to work as slaves. This meant all day labour and unfair living conditions. Now, there are four main communities living in the Amazon. These are Mestizos, Aborigines, Gringos and the Yanomami Tribes. The city of Manaus is also located along the Amazon river. It is in Brazil and is home to about 1.7 million people!
