Before we can tell you about the Amazon, you need to know what a RAINFOREST is.
A rainforest is a forest that has a large amount of annual rainfall. Rainforests could also be described as jungles, as they have a vast range of flora and fauna that inhabit them. Oddly enough, rainforests only cover 6% of the earth, yet inhabit about 1/2 of the earth's animals and plants. there are three types of rainforests; tropical, monsoonal and montane. the Amazon is a tropical rainforest. To understand what a rainforest is, you must know what the four main elements are and what they mean.
BIOSPHERE
Biosphere is anything in relation to the plants and animals of the rainforest.
LITHOSPHERE
Lithosphere is things to do with the landforms and soil.
HYDROSPHERE
Hydrosphere is to do with the water in the rainforest. This could mean things in relation to rivers, lakes, waterfalls and rainfall.
ATMOSPHERE
Atmosphere is the element that relates to the air in the rainforest.
