Human Impact on the Amazon
The protection of the Amazon rainforest is still a big issue, but deforestation rates there have decreased while conversational land rates have increased over the last 10 years. the reasons for deforestation are as follows;
1. Clearing for Cattle Pasture
2. Colonisation and Subsistence Agriculture
3. Infrastructure Improvements
4.Commercial Agriculture- Soy beans
5. Logging
A study by climate change experts suggested that by the year 2010, if the world's temperature increases by 3*, about 75% of the Amazon would be destroyed. another impact that us people have had on the Amazon is fires. When we cut down trees, some loggers choose to burn the stumps, which could potentially cause a larger fire. Tribes that settle in the rainforest set up camps that could set off other fires if they aren't careful in putting them out.

Another major problem that still needs to be resolved is LOGGING. About 60 - 80% of all the logging the Amazon is illegal. Sadly, illegal logging is now considered normal. Logging is the process of cutting down a large number of trees and sending them to a mill. another threat to the Amazon is the amount of animal poaching, especially illegal poaching. also the health of the Amazon rainforest is threatened by the mining that is done in the rainforest. this is a big threat as it pollutes the rivers. Plant collectors are also another big threat because they take the plants away and they don't re-grow.
